The IS-ENES3 project led by IPSL has been successful and is now invited for contract preparation by the H2020 research programme. The project is the third phase of the « Infrastructure for the European Network of Earth System Modelling ». The final report of the second phase is available here.
The draft WCRP Strategic Plan 2019-2029 is now available for public consultation. WCRP welcomes your comments and invite you to share this opportunity to shape the next decade of climate research among your colleagues and networks. Due to significant issues recently found in their model components, IPSL CMC has decided to stop the production of its pre-industrial spinup climate simulation that started on March 29th. Given the tight schedule it was operating on and the severity of the issues found, IPSL CMC has no other option but to withdraw its participation […]
IPSL CMC has launched its first CMIP6 simulation today after more than two years of model development, model tuning and preparation of an optimized workflow for the output data. A large number of simulations from the DECK and the various Model Intercomparison Projects will now be performed on a special HPC allocation provided by GENCI. […]
IPSL CMC was awarded 16 millions hours of cpu for a « grand challenge » on irene, the new supercomputer of the TGCC. The project aims at testing the atmospheric general circulation model, both in its old and new dynamical cores, at increasingly high resolution, with the full suite of outputs.
IPSL Climate Modelling Centre is proud to be a partner of ExtremeEarth preparatory project through its affiliation with CNRS. ExtremeEarth aims to « revolutionize Europe’s capability to predict and monitor environmental extremes and their impacts on society enabled by the imaginative integration of edge and exascale computing and beyond, and the real-time exploitation of pervasive environmental […]
